Our Carlos Fortuna Organization conducted a Baseball Clinic and a Parental Training with Bogota’s Official Baseball League (Liga de Beisbol de Bogota) in partnership with the National Sports Administration Department (Ministerio del Deporte) on Saturday December 12, 2020.
Close to 30 children between ages 6 and 17 and their parents took part of this incredible event. Our international guest coaches conducted a clinic for three hours.
Parents participated in a two-part workshop, where our Professional Staff discussed relevant topics about raising children-athletes in today’s world.
One of our major highlights was the visit and participation of major league player, 2015 WS MVP,Salvador Perez.
Chía-Colombia

On Sunday the 13 th , we conducted a second event in the beautiful outskirts of Bogota, in the town of Chia. Our very talented staff had a great time coaching close to 25 children between the ages of 2 and 15 and had the opportunity to work with their parents during the Parental Training. These kids are part of a local baseball program, directed by a former professional Colombian ballplayer, who volunteers his time to grow the game of baseball to this town.
We had the privilege to count with the presence of Salvador Perez on this day, too. We conducted a very successful day with the support the local entity IMRD - Municipal Institute of Sports and Recreation. We were able to bring equipment donations provided by Kansas City Royals -Surprise, Royals Charities and Major League Player Yolmer Sanchez to this noble cause. And yes, Salvador Perez was supporting us the whole time we conducted the clinic and the parental training workshop.
This was our first official event in Colombia. We hope to keep supporting these communities in need and we are currently planning on conducting summer clinics and 3-day workshops for parents. We could not have done any of this without our donors and supporters. If you consider donating, please,

Bogotá 2023
Nine speakers from Major League Baseball shared their professional experiences with the attendees at our International Conference held in Bogota, at the Bogotá Theater of the Central University.
A wide range of academic, psychological, and educational topics were covered during the first day. Discussions included high performance in sports, financial education, scouting, communications, and English as the universal language of sports, all led by professionals with vast experience within the MLB world.
The prestigious panel of speakers offered a unique opportunity for Colombia and, especially, Bogotá. These nine professionals currently worked and have worked, among other teams, with the Cincinnati Reds, the Kansas City Royals, and the New York Mets.
The highlight of the event was the presence of active Major League players: Dilson Herrera (COL), Carlos Hernandez (VEN), and Elier Hernandez (DOM). In an interactive panel, they imparted valuable lessons for athletes, parents, and sports leaders.
One of the main objectives of the event is to generate a transformation in the path that today's children in training within this sport follow. To achieve this, one of the psychologists from the Cincinnati Reds, Colombian Felix Danilo Hurtado, with 9 years of experience in the MLB industry, conducted a workshop that imparts important lessons among the athletes.
